Muhammadu Buhari Says - CBN Should Not Give Money To Food Importers

Buhari - we must go back to our land.

 President Muhammadu Buhari has instruct the central bank of Nigeria CBN Not to provide foreign exchange to food importers.

Buhari, give the directive in the fifth regular meeting with presidential economy advisory cancil that held in the statehouse ABUJA December 29.

The statement was released by Garba Shehu the President special assistant on media and publicity, quoted that President Buhari saying that we most eat from what we produce.

The statement;

Central bank of Nigeria CBN must not give money to food importers, already, about seven states are producing all the rice we need. We must eat from what we produce. Going back to our Land is the way out we depends on petrol at the expense of agriculture. Now the oil industry is in turmoils.  We are been squeeze to product at 1.5 million barrels a day as against capacity to produce 2.3 million.

We continued to encourage our peoples to go back to Land, leaving the land for city and and oil richer.

We are back on Land now, we must not lost the opportunity to make life easier for our peoples.

This is the third time President Buhari issues CBN directive not to give food importers foriegn exchange.
