 Civil servants from grade 1 to 13 are reportedly directed to work from home by the river state government. In the statement issued on Tuesday January 19 by head of service in the state Rufus Godwin, officer from level 14 and above were also directed to be on duty and assume full responsibility to their office till further notice. Godwin, said the decision was taken due to the increased of coronavirus case in the second waves of the disease. "Following the current increase in the number of coronavirus case in the second waves of pandemic, His Excellent Governor of River state, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has directed all civil servants on salary scale of 01-13 except those on essential duty to stay away from forthwith. While officer from grade 14 and above should be on duty and assume full responsibility for their office till further notice. This directive which takes effect from Wednesday 20 January 2021 shall remain in force until his excellent direct otherwise please." By Rashidat

  Governor Wike- Let nobody tells you coronavirus is not real. NEWS BY:- Raymond Governor Nyesom Wike of river state has threatened to re imposed a fresh lockdown as the number of coronavirus increase in the state. The statement released by his special adviser Kelvin Ibiri says the governor gave a hint of the imminent second phase of lockdown during Thanksgiving church service in celebrating 90th Birthday of Mr Priscilla Nwanediye Mark at St. Martin Angelican church  Omagwa in Ikwerre Local government on Sunday. He said that the refusal of most churches and market to Wear nose masks in adherence to the coronavirus protocol has led the increase number of virus cases in recent time. Who also said that the state government had initially relaxed in restrictions on number of peoples that worshipping in the churches.
