US has Finaly Backed, Ngozi Okonjo Iweala for The Next Director of WTO


 The Bidden administration on Friday February 5 said the US would support Ngozi Okonjo Iweala as the next director general of the world trade organization, hours after south Korea minister stepped out of the race.

The Bidden administration decision is the last hurdles standing in the way of Ms Okonjo Iweala assuming the top job at the WTO after south Korea Too Myung her pulled out.

Last year Ms Okonjo Iweala was supported by a Majority of WTO members but the trump administration backed Ms Too, saying she was a better qualified.

The office of the US trade representative said in a statement on Friday, Dr Okonjo Iweala bring a wealth of knowledge in economic and international diplomacy from her 25 years with the world Bank and two teams as Nigeria minister.

The statement added, she wildly respect for her effective leadership and has proven experience managing of a large i international organization with a diverse membership.

Ngozi Okonjo Iweala is sat to be the first woman and the first Africa to run the Geneva Base trade boody.
