Economic and financial crime commission EFCC on Friday January 29 arrested 10 suspects over computer related fraud known as Yahoo Yahoo. A statement released by the antigraft agency states that the suspect were arrested at their academy in Bwari as axis of Abuja were they were said to be learning the trade of cyber trickery. The suspect age between 20 and 30 years were identify as Sixtus Jude, Moses Samuel, Isalan Johnny, Dapet Nimshak, Samuel Ogboche, Victor Samuel, Victor Asuguo, Ibrahim Yunusa, Yahaya Usman, and Chijoke Ikwuoha. There were arrested with different incriminating items such as mobile phone and computer. The promoter of the academy is however on the run. Investigation show that the sponsor recruit and train young individual who show interest in internet fraudsters. By Rashidat Mustapha from Abuja.
The Inspector general of police, Adamu Muhammad has explained why the Nigeria police is acclaimed to be the best in the world. Appearing on the channel television on Monday January 25, Adamu Muhammad said the police in Nigeria do a lot to keep the peace even though it is underfunded. He also disclose that when Nigerians officers are taken out of the country to an international environment were the logistics of effective policing are available, they perform wonderfully well. Adamu said; "When you have police as an organization that is supposed to fight crime and to mentioned law and order, the personel of that organization must be properly trained, must be properly equipped, must be given a necessary tools required for them to perform the function for their recruited. It is only in Nigeria that you have police officer that don't have the required logistics but the struggle and make the society peaceful." By Rashidat Mustapha from Abuja.
Gunmen suspected to be Bandits have kill a Man of Oodua people congres OPC Daniel Adejuyigbe Iju Akure north local government area of Ondo state. It was gathered that the decease was part of the search team organized to secure the release of farmer, Solomon Akinmeji who was kidnapped at Okeji farm settlement last Saturday. Akinmeju was on his farm with some other workers when the armed men abduct him while others manage to escape. Youth of the town and members of opc formed a search party to secure the release of the farmer but Adejuyigbe went missing during the search. Confirming the incident, the Ondo state police command spoke person, Tee Leo Ikoro, said an investigation has commenced in to the matter while some detective from the state have been drafted to comb the forest. Ikoro, added that the state commissioner of police, Bolaji Salami has ordered a manhunt for the criminal assured that the abducted farmer will be released. By Rashidat Mustapha from Abuja.
